Three possible notices are sent when an item is overdue. If we have your email address, you will receive a notice when your items are one week passed due. If we only have your physical mailing address, you will receive a notice when your items are 4 weeks passed due. In both cases, fines will accrue at $.10 per day, per item. When an item is 6 weeks passed due, it is assumed lost and we send a notice to your physical address with the cost for replacing the item. Occasionally, we will phone about an overdue item that has many holds (requests for) by other patrons. However, do not expect a regular phone call about overdue items.
You can greatly reduce your overdue fines by having an active email address on file, and this also saves us postage fees. Of course, the most cost effective method is to return your items before or on the due date.
