Youth Services
Baby/Toddler and Pre-school story time will be held September 3, 10, and 17 at 10:15 – 11:00 am.
Literacy Tip:
The language of nursery rhymes and books is different from the lanugage of conversation. Rhymes and books often have one or two unusual words, ones that children don't hear in regular conversation. Having a large vocabulary helps children understand what they hear and what they will later read. As you read to your child, don't replace those unfamiliar words, simply explain them.
Story Times
Story Time for Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school children will be held each Friday of July and August at 10:15 – 11:00 am. Babies and Toddlers will meet with Christie Aldrich in the upstairs meeting room. Pre-school children will meet with Nancy Bostrom in the Youth area. A playtime and/or craft accompanies this time.
Support your child’s emergent literacy skills by reading together, talking about what he/she sees in the pictures and what he thinks will happen next.
