August 25 Happenings

Friends of the LIbrary September Events

September 10 is the fall kickoff for the Friends of the Library.  Join the business meeting in the upstairs reading room at 12:30. The Book Lovers Book Club will review House Rules by Jodi Picoult at 1:30pm.

The Book Station will be open September 11 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for the annual Chokecherry Festival Book Sale, featuring special collectable books and more.

 Library Board Changes Time

The Library Board will meet Thursday, September 9, at a new time—2:00pm.  All future meetings will be held the second Thursday of each month at 2:00pm, unless otherwise noted.

Visit Your Library on September 15

Lewistown, along with other Montana libraries, will participate in the first annual “Montana Library Day.”  Watch future columns for information about our special activities.

 Book Returns, Etc.

If you think it does not make a dimes worth of difference whether you bring your return items into the library or leave them in the book drop outside, you might be surprised.  It could, if the books were due today and the book drop won’t be emptied until tomorrow morning.  Fines are 10 cents a day per each late item.

Start the new school year off with a clean slate—return all those great summer reads and clear up your fines.  Returning way overdue items actually reduces your fine as the replacement cost is removed from your total.
