The summer reading program has come to an end.  The final weekly drawing winners and the grand prize winners are now posted on our youth services bulletin board and here on this website.  All prizes must be claimed by August 29.  Please express your thanks to all of our wonderful sponsors who made these prizes possible.

Library Board Meeting

Open to the public, the meeting of the Library Board of Trustees will held Thursday, August 13 at 11:00 pm in the library upstairs meeting room. 

Attention Book Clubs

Do you have new reading lists for the fall season? To assure at least one available copy at the library, please submit your lists to us as soon as possible.  Check our list of book kits for multiple copies of a title.  Discussion questions are included in each kit.

Not in a book discussion group but want to participate?  Consider the book discussion sponsored by the Friends of the Library.  The first Book Club meeting of this season is on October 2 at 1:30 in the library upstairs meeting room.  The book under discussion is “The Guernsey Literary and potato Peel pie Society.”  The library owns one copy of this book and it is also available as a free audio download for your computer or audio device such as an MP3 player.

Download free Audio Books to your MP3 player, Ipod or similar audio device by using the Library’s download station, or download to your own computer for further transfer to your portable audio device.  Follow the instructions on the library home webpage to enjoy over 1380 titles, available for 15-day checkout.  Five checkouts and/or holds are possible at any given time with automatic expiration, thus no overdue fines.  This Montanlibrary2go service is provided by a consortium of Montana libraries and the Montana State Library.

New Titles Sampler

Adult non-fiction: Many of our genealogy materials are being added to the catalog, such as Colver-Culver Family Genealogy: as Descended from Edward Colver of Groton, Connecticut, to the Thirteen Generations in America by Valerie Dyer Giorgi.

Children’s non-fiction: Let’s Sing Together by Peter Yarrow; and My first Book of Knots by Berndt Sundsten.

September Book Sale

The Book Station will be open in September—on the 2^nd Saturday, September 12, during the Chokecherry Festival, from 8am to 5pm.  Montana books, rare books and collectibles will be featured.  Be sure and note this date on your calendar as it is a deviation from the norm.
