Happenings at the Lewistown Public Library – June 3

 

Upcoming Meetings

The Lewistown Public Library Board is having several special meetings in the coming days, all open to the public.  A Budget planning discussion will be held Thursday, June 4 at 10:00 am.  On Thursday June 11 at 11:30 am the regular monthly meeting of the Library Board will be held.  On Thursday June 18 at 10:00 am there will be another budget planning discussion.  All meetings are open to the public and are held in the upstairs meeting room of the Library.

 

Used Book Sale

The Book Station will be open Saturday June 6 from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm for your browsing and buying pleasure.  There will be an especially good selection of items as donations are pouring in daily.  Donations are received at the Library during open hours.

 

Family Summer Reading Program Begins June 9

Registration for this year’s program “Be Creative @ Your Library” begins June 9.  Aspects of creativity in art, drama, and music will be featured in our weekly programs.  Open to all ages (child to adult), the program rewards time spent reading with weekly and grand prizes. 

 

Program activities in June:

Wednesday, June 17 @ 1:30, Stories & Craft (Ages 6-12)

Friday, June 19 and 26 @ 10:15, Stories, music and playtime or craft for babies – age 5.

Saturday, June 20 and 27 @ 12:30, Set the Stage with Matt Simpson and Collin Barth (drama skills)

Wednesday, June 24 @ 1:30, Art with Cheryl Bennes.

Young Adult: Ever by Gail Carson Levine; Hunted: a House of Night Novel by P.C. Cast; The Icebound Land by John Flanagan; The Luxe by Anna Godbersen; Operation Storm City by Joshua Mowll; and Skeleton Creek by Patrick Carmen.

 

Picture Books: as Luck Would have It: From the Brothers Grimm by Robert D. San Souci; The Best Marachi in the World by J.D. Smith; Bird, Butterfly, Eel by James Prosek; A Birthday for Cow! by Jan Thomas; and Mr. Mac’s Bad Rabbits by Simon Puttock.

 

Library Services

 Story Times for Babies, Toddlers and Pre-school children will be held the following Fridays at 10:15 – 11:00 am: May 29, June 19 and 26.  Babies and Toddlers meet with Bridgett Johnson in the upstairs meeting room.  Children ages 3-6 meet with Nancy Bostrom in the downstairs youth area.  A playtime and/or a simple craft accompany this time.

 

24-hour Wireless access; Internet access to the Library Catalog, Infotrac periodical database, local Historical Photographic Archive, Montana Library 2 Go audio books, and HeritageQuest Online; Books-by-Mail, Library cards free to all Fergus County residents; Genealogy Research; free meeting room available to non-profit groups.
