Canadian Limousin Association Limousin originated in the high, rocky French Aquitaine region. For centuries the area was isolated from the rest of Europe by political strife. For instance, Richard The Lion Hearted (King of England), died on the field of battle not far from Limousin. The region was also the center of the 100 Year War.
