For instance, Richard The Lion Hearted (King of England), died on the field of battle not far from Limousin. The region was also the center of the 100 Year War. As a result, the Limousin breed has long been a range animal, bred & selected for outstanding meat qualities & adapted to rustling as a result of the scarcity of feed grains.
